Terms & Conditions

We supply skip hire for Guiseley, Yeadon and surrounding areas.

Below are the skip hire terms and conditions you need to agree to when you hire a skip with us. The terms ‘The Company’, ‘we’ and ‘us’ are each intended as reference to Ramsey Skip Hire.

 

Delivery

Our skip lorries are large and heavy; as such we require a site surface capable of withstanding 18.00 tonnes. Should site surface criteria be less than stated above, The Customer must accept all responsibility for any damage whatsoever or howsoever caused.
The Customer must ensure our lorry will have at least a 2.5m width distance to unload the skip.
We may charge you for the abortive visit if we are unable to deliver or collect the skip on the arranged time due to restrictions on the access to the skip.
You are responsible for taking any vehicle off the driveway or road, and for the protection of the driveway.

 

Permits

Where the skip is left on the public highway at the request of The Customer:
– The Customer agrees to pay for the permit.
– The Customer agrees to comply with each and every condition of the said permit and all other statutory requirements from time to time in force, particularly those relating to the placement and lighting of the skip.
The Customer shall indemnify The Company against all actions, costs, claims, expenses or proceedings arising out of any failure by The Customer to comply with the said permit or requirements.

 

Delivery Times

Delivery times are Monday – Friday, between 8:30am – 5:30pm; Saturday, between 8:30am – 1pm. Other times may be available on request.

 

Payment

Payment is due either on delivery by cash or over the phone before delivery if paying by card. We do not accept payment on collection.
If you have chosen to pay by card then please make sure you call us with your card details prior to delivery. Unpaid skips may delay delivery.

 

Skip Loading

The Customer is responsible for ensuring that at all times skips are loaded safely and that the area around the skip(s) is kept safe and tidy.
The Customer shall not overload or permit the skip to be overloaded in any event to be loaded higher than the top of the skip.
Should any skip be deemed by The Company to be overloaded, it is The Customer’s responsibility to rectify the situation. However, The Company reserves the right to, at any time; remove any objects from the skip(s) that it feels may jeopardize the safe transportation of any skip(s).
Any extra costs howsoever incurred in removing, transporting or disposing of the contents of any skip(s); will be charged to The Customer.
The Customer agrees that all materials deposited in the skip may be presumed by The Company to be abandoned and to be disposed of and that The Company shall bear no responsibility whatsoever for materials deposited in the skip.

 

Collection

Collection of the skip shall normally be within 48 hours of your call to say you are finished with it. We do not automatically collect the skips after the hire period.
The Company reserves the right to collect any skip over the hire period without notice.
Skips are to be level filled only – Highly stacked/overloaded/unsafe skips will not be collected.
Notices
A skip must not be moved without prior permission from The Company; The Customer must accept all responsibility for any damage or extra costs incurred due to any skip being moved howsoever caused.
We shall not be liable for any consequential loss, expenses, liabilities or claims arising out of the late delivery, non-delivery, collection or unsuitability of the skip.
The Company accepts no responsibility whatsoever for damage to driveways, walls, gates, hedges, trees etc.
The Customer will indemnify The Company against any actions, claims, costs, expenses or proceedings in respect of any of the following:
– personal injury or the death of any person;
– injury, trespass, nuisance or other damage of whatsoever nature to any property real or personal;
– any other liability, where, the same arises out of the use or situation of the skip or otherwise in connection therewith during the period of hire and whether due to any negligence, omission, act, default or breach of statutory duty by The Customer or his agents.
It is your responsibility to look after the skip whilst it has been delivered to you and you are responsible for the cost of repair or replacement should it be lost, stolen or damaged (including by internal fires).
The Customer is responsible at all times while the skip is in their possession for ensuring that the skip does not constitute a nuisance danger or trespass to The Company or a third party and that the siting thereof does not infringe on any statute, order regulation or local by-law.

 

Skip Contents

If The Company find any of the below excluded items in your skip we will refuse to take it or you may be asked to pay a premium.
The excluded items that you cannot place in your skip are:
– Aerosols
– Anti-freeze
– Asbestos
– Batteries
– Biological waste
– Corrosive liquid
– Explosives
– Fire extinguishers
– Florescent tubes & light bulbs
– Fridges
– Gas canisters
– Laboratory waste
– Medical waste
– Motor oils
– Paint
– Pesticides
– Plasterboard
– Solvents
– Televisions & computer monitors
– Vehicle batteries
– Vehicle wheels

The items you can place in your skip are:
– Bricks
– Domestic waste (such as packaging)
– Fixtures
– Furnishings
– Furniture
– Hard core
– Metal
– Non electrical fittings
– Plastic
– Rubble
– Soil (that isn’t contaminated)
– WoodThe Customer shall not burn or permit to burnt any refuse, rubbish or any other contents of the skip inside the skip.

The Customer shall not deposit or permit to be deposited in the skip materials of an obnoxious, dangerous or poisonous nature of any liquids of any nature whatsoever.
